Forgive this generation, Oh God,
For we foolishly turn away from You knowing the truth.
Sorrow lies deep within
watching this foolish generation filled with shame,
despite Your Son washing it all away.
The hefty price which You’ve paid in full,
only to be taken for granted, thought of for free, and trampled upon.
Yet not wasted in Your eyes.
Your love for us is bizarre and blows us all away.
How You suffered for us knowing who we are,
goes beyond all we can ever hope to comprehend.
How we dare call ourselves Your children,
but by Your grace alone.
We run right back into Your arms like the prodigal son,
and repeat this all over again.
How long will sin creep on us?
How many times will we fall and fall away again?
How abundant is Your grace!
How abundant is Your mercy!
Surely Your love lasts forever
for You are faithful, Oh Lord.
We dare seek Your face.
We dare seek Your kingdom.
Let us no longer be enslaved by the chains of this world!
Father, deliver us from evil!
Teach us to be faithful.
Teach us to be pure.
Teach us to love You.
Let us hear Your voice calling our names,
and may we follow Your Son forever and ever.
